History and Mission
The German American Social Club of Greater Miami was founded in 1949.
The mission of the German American Social Club of Greater Miami is to celebrate our heritage by sharing with the community our German history, culture, and traditions.
We also aim to improve our community by
working with local charitable organizations and
offering scholarships to students wishing to continue their German studies.
Edelweiß Schuhplattler: For more information on the children's dance group or to sign your child up to dance, contact Christine Giniger, at 305-254-8932. They practice on Friday evenings. Our Facilities
Our Clubhouse is located on 5 acres of land on Miller Drive in Southwest Miami's horse country.
We have a large multi-use hall with a stage and dance floor where we hold events. Our big 206" screen is used to televise sporting events and for movie nights. We have a full kitchen and bar, as well as an outdoor grill.
Out back, we have a full soccer pitch which is used on Saturdays and on Sunday mornings.
Our biggest event every year is Oktoberfest on the third and fourth weekends of October. It is the largest German cultural event in South East Florida and the oldest Oktoberfest in Florida.
