GASC Volunteer Scholarship Fund
The GASC Volunteer Scholarship Fund recognizes and supports outstanding student volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, leadership, and service through their involvement with GASC programs and community initiatives. This scholarship is intended to encourage and reward individuals who embody the spirit of volunteerism and community engagement that defines GASC’s mission.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the GASC Volunteer Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Volunteer Involvement
- Must have actively volunteered with GASC within the one full year prior to the application deadline.
- Must have contributed a minimum of twenty (20) volunteer hours during that time, verified by a GASC committee member or coordinator. These hours must include service at Oktoberfest Miami.
- Volunteer service must reflect dedication, reliability, and a positive impact on GASC’s programs or events.
Academic Standing
- Must be currently enrolled as a high school junior or senior with a demonstrated intent to enroll in higher education.
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent.
Character and Conduct
- Must exemplify GASC’s values of integrity, inclusiveness, teamwork, and respect.
- Must be in good standing within their school and community (no disciplinary or conduct violations).
- Special consideration will be given to GASC’s membership input on each student.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a complete application package including the following:
- Completed Application Form (available on the GASC website or from the Scholarship Committee).
- Personal Statement (750-1000 words)
- Describe your volunteer experience with GASC, what you have learned from it, and how it has influenced your academic or career goals.
- Discuss how you plan to continue giving back to your community in the future.
- Resume of Activities
- Include school, community, and volunteer involvement, leadership positions, honors, and awards..
- Official or Unofficial Transcript
- Showing GPA and current enrollment status.
Award Details
- The number and amount of scholarships awarded each year will depend on available funding. Scholarships will range from $500 – $1000 per student.
- Scholarships are non-renewable and recipients of the scholarship are not eligible to receive additional scholarships in subsequent years
- Awards will be paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution to be applied toward tuition, fees, or educational expenses. Should a high school junior receive an award, the funds will be withheld until the student is confirmed as enrolled in a higher education institution.

Submission Instructions
- Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on April 1, 2026
- Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Questions may be directed to Sophia Wendt at volunteers@GASCMiami.org
Conditions
- Recipients must provide proof of enrollment in an accredited postsecondary institution before funds are disbursed.
- If a recipient is unable to attend or withdraws from their program, the scholarship funds must be returned to GASC.
- GASC reserves the right to withhold or revoke the award if the recipient is found to have misrepresented information or violated GASC’s code of conduct.
- Family members of GASC Scholarship committee members are not eligible to receive an award.
Recognition
Recipients will be recognized at an award presentation that will be announced at a future date and may be featured in GASC communications and publications.
